Saturday night's Star Party at the Virginia Living Museum was short but sweet...John Wright and I had about two hours of very clear skies between two cloud bands and made the most of it with quite a few guests coming out (thanks to Linda House for the photo above of the considerable queue waiting to view Jupiter through my 6-inch 'scope) to enjoy the skies. Between observing the King of the Planets and the Pleiades everyone seemed to enjoy their brief Valentines' Day stargazing experience.
By about 2000 the skies were overcast again, and soon afterward the rain and wind began. Quite a storm, actually, blowing through most of the night and punctuated by lightning! Unusual in February, I think.
